The Peacock While on vacation along the mid-coast of California, I stayed at a modest little motel away from the highway and not far from the ocean. I anticipated quiet morning lie-ins with the sound of the surf in the background. At dawn the first day I was awakened and greeted by an annoying pounding coming from the parking lot.
