I have had several people recently tell me in their own unique ways that they felt something like a bouncing ball in life. Trying to juggle work, school, health and family responsibilities can be overwhelming, leaving someone to feel out of balance, disconnected and unfocused. Many of us can get caught up in busy and active lives. We start treading water and just surviving rather than making purposeful choices and actions with ourselves and others. This can be slippery slope in any relationship. I think it’s important to take a quick assessment every few months – check in on your priorities and values and what’s important to you right now. Have you...

I love shopping! I don’t care what it is, I’ll offer to help my friends shop. Need a car? Oh, let me go online and research for you! Need to find the perfect dress? Please, let me go with you! Yes, I love to shop! Shopping for a coach? Well, maybe not so much.  But, I look at this this way…. When it comes to choosing a life coach, finding the right one for you is like finding the right running shoes. Sometimes, off and running, you find a pair that fit just right.  But, sometimes you have to try on a couple pair and compare. Still other times, you have to run around the block a couple times. Sometimes people finally cultivate the courage to...

Does your child have good marks at school?

A friend of mine was telling me about her son the other day. He had this science test at school and she felt that he was not preparing for it as he should be. He took his test and had pretty decent marks. He received 17,5 on a twenty marks test. Plus, for that school’s standards, this wasn’t that easy to achieve. When he announced his results to his mum, she told him in a friendly and joking way: “Well, if you got that result without learning anything, just imagine what you could have had, had you worked a little bit harder!” When she told me that story, I asked myself if we can ever be satisfied by our children’s marks, even when they are good marks. Why is...

Has Anyone Ever Called You a “Nag”?

Posted by on Jun 29, 2011 in Freedom, Gratitude, Learning, Mindset, Passionate Living, Personal Development, Relationships, Self Esteem, Self Love, Success | Comments Off

Women are notorious for being labeled as “nags” (though I’ll bet there are a few men out there who’ve been called the same). I’m sure I speak for all women when I say how much we hate it! Fortunately, I’ve only been called a nag a couple times. and my response was to blame the man who called me that, thinking if only he would get off his lazy ass and do his share, I wouldn’t have to nag! And you know, there was definitely some truth to that. But as I’ve gotten older and … ahem, wiser, I’ve found that there’s usually some truth in what people point out to us about ourselves as well. I’ve also learned that our internal world creates...

Be Yourself… REALLY Be Yourself

You know, it’s pretty hard to live with passion when you’re just not be being true to yourself. If we feel compelled to act or behave or be what we believe others expect of us or would like from us, then we aren’t being true to ourselves and chances are we aren’t all that happy, either. We are stifling our own energy, creativity, spontaneity, contribution, and love among other qualities that as a whole are special or unique to ourselves. If we have to become someone else just to fit in or get along, then haven’t we sacrificed the very essence of our own identity? Anyone can really fit in if they really want to. But how many people really...

Lessons in Life and Suicide Bombers

Posted by on Jun 28, 2011 in Freedom, Gratitude, Life Purpose, Personal Development, Quotes, Responsibility, Self Esteem, Self Love, Spirituality | Comments Off

Why does a suicide bomber become a suicide bomber? Because he thinks it’s a noble cause. He’s looking for someone’s love & approval – whether he thinks it will earn him honor in his family’s eyes or in the eyes of God.  And honor feels good.  Why does anyone do what they do? If you keep asking why, the ultimate answer is to bring happiness or peace or an inner satisfaction. They’re all really the same thing under different labels. We all want to feel good, and we do what we do, because we think it will lead to feeling good. We all came into this world the same. We were all once babies looking to survive. We were all once little kids who found the...
