So what is coaching exactly?

What is coaching? Coaching is the practice of supporting, challenging and empowering an individual or group/team through the process of achieving a specific personal or professional result via cutting edge strategies and change techniques. It is distinct from training and mentoring, in that the coach/client relationship is one of trust, accountability and responsiveness. Training is teaching an individual or group how to achieve a result by imparting practical skills and knowledge that relate to specific useful competencies, while mentoring is the process of an expert providing their expertise to less experienced individuals to help them advance their careers, education,...

Why do people unsubscribe or even block you?

It is very easy to take this personally. What did you do? Did you offend them? How can you fix it? Don’t they  like you? You can really beat yourself up over this, But  people are people, they will do what they do best which is take offence, be prejudice and state their opinion. The important thing to remember is Never Take it Personally. They may have issues: Actually we all do but some handle theirs differently to others. Some handle this by excluding instead of including and finding out any needed reasons. Email overload: Messages pile up and sometimes the only way to deal with these is to delete the ones you have no time to read. Facebook is great for this...

Nails

A  guy walks into a home improvement store in search of a particular size of nails. A clerk tells him they’re on the third floor, aisle three, in the back. Despite a diligent search, the guy can’t locate the nails. He finds the clerk and says, “Excuse me, I didn’t see these nails.” “Oh, you mean those nails,” the clerk replies. “They are in the basement in aisle seven.” The customer goes there and again doesn’t find the nails. He returns to the clerk and asks, “Do you even sell this type of nail?” “They’re right behind you,” the clerk says. The man is furious and asks, “Why did you make me run up and down and back and forth throughout...

How a legal principle can be your guide to a better life

I know. Sexy and enticing title! Bear with me, this might actually help you see things in a new way. A lifetime ago, I was a law student. A rather unsuccessful one, but a law student nonetheless. I don’t remember much from that time. To be accurate, only two things have stuck with me over the years. The first, is an almost crippling fear of the word contract. Mention it once and see me run to the opposite direction. The second is one of the most basic legal principles in civil law systems. The principle simply states: Nullum crimen, nulla poena sine lege, which translates to No crime, no punishment without a law. What this means is that we can’t arbitrarily decide...

Start now!

If you’re reading this, I’m hoping that you, like me, know that you have a soul and that it is eternal. And hopefully you know that your soul came to this world with its own promise. Its own mission. Just like 007. Well, maybe not with the gun and the cool car, but you, too, are meant to do something in this world that only you can do. And whether you refer to this as “answering your calling” or “doing your life’s work” be aware that forces stronger than your dreams are trying to prevent you from living them and keep you just where you are. In comfort. But it’s never too late to change. We are often bombarded with our own...
